While kayaking Puget Sound near Olympia, we came upon a few young harbor seals sunning themselves. A few of them rolled into the water and swam alongside us on our journey, one coming close enough to the kayak to brush its flippers on the rear of the plastic boat. It was a fun experience that I'll never forget, and I'm grateful my camera was with me in the boat.
